Having absolutely no shows to watch is bad.. I am on to the next person's trail in searching for things to watch.. He was my friend's idol from very long back called Kashiwabara Takashi or Kassy for short.. I saw him before in Itazurana Kiss and though i wasn't head over heels in love with him, he is still a good looking actor.
Last night, having absolutely nothing to watch and being in denial of work, I chanced upon this very old movie called Love Letter. I cannot remember when it was aired but if Kassy acted as a junior high school student as opposed to the moustachy guy in Honey and Clover, it must be really old. I was scrutinising his face with what poor quality video i am watching and yes.. he looks like Okada's age.. actually older by 3 yrs.. if nothing is on his face, i can recognise him quite disctinctly but alas, his recent shows are all moustached.. just like Okada.. anyway on to about the show.
The show started slow.. and since the resolution is not good, I had troubles recognizing the 2 heroine of the show.. and of cos they are made to look similar too due to some reasons.. I almost cannot take the pace of the show until they start to reminisce the past and Kassy's parts are in. He played a dead guy who once, in junior high, was in the same class as another girl with the same name. Same FULL name.. how rare can that be when your name is not as common as Shota... or Ryuji.. and a unisex name at that. So being in junior high, the point of time where all kids including me are the stupidest, they are into alot of trouble because they shared the same name. Pairing together and being on duty together due to sabotaging... the heroine of the story is actually writing a letter to Kassy's fiancee as she wanted to know more about him. it was when i finally understood the first part of the story. Kassy's fiancee sent a letter to him (after she copied an address in his yearbook) thinking it was a letter to him in heaven. However, it reached his namesake instead and this is how they started communicating. After a long while, the fiancee finally realises that she made a terrible mistake and the story continued as she asked his namesake to tell her about the days back in middle school. Of course the namesake remembered alot of things about his other than sharing the same name and how he often acted weirdly too.. They were in the library club together and he refused to work but keep borrowing books ppl wun borrow just to write his name first and only one on the card. his namesake did not get what kind of prank he was playing until the end of the show. It wasn't his name he is writing on the card but hers instead.
The show was very random.. no plot no story.. it almost seemed like an everyday happening where you chance upon something you have long forgotten in your past and almost on cue, someone else came along and let you remember of the old feelings once locked up in the heart and stored away, forgotten. It was a waste to turn out to be a love story where feelings are not well expressed and never made known.. but yet it was sweet in another way.
